Our History
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (LAVFW) was established in 1914 - almost 100 years of service to our veterans, their families, communities and our youth. One of the most important programs the Ladies Auxiliary VFW established was donating over $3 million annually towards cancer aid and research. All proceeds are 100%; there is no overhead. The Ladies work hand in hand with our parent organization - the VFW - on Americanism projects, Suicide Awareness, the VFW National Home for Children located in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, Veterans and Family Support, various Scholarships including the VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen audio essay contests (top prize $30,000 scholarship), Legislation, Hospital Program as well as Youth Activities.
Our Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary is located in downtown Tualatin. We have members from all over the Portland Metro Area. Tigard, Beaverton, Sherwood, King City and Lake Oswego are just to name a few.
